One of the greatest annoyances with Windows Vista is the fact that it shuts down slowly. Luckily you can speed up shutdowns by tweaking the registry. Download this tool I wrote to quickly tweak the registry... readon.. Extreemly simple to use just select how many milliseconds you would like Vista to wait before killing unresponsive services. This little tool modifies the following registry key. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Control The control branch itself Value Name = WaitToKillServiceTimeout My default value was 20000, you could try a lower value like 5000 but do so at your own risk. Might want to do some backup before trying a value below 5000. Vista should shutdown faster after that cheers......
