Sending large files to your friends and relatives through email can sometimes be a frustrating experience. But luckily for us there are a number of free services that we can use, to send large files.... Yes through email... without the problems. I'm going to look at 3 of such services, these services are so easy to use you just gotta try it. You don't even need to register or install anything for some of these services... readon... Ok lets look at this from 3 different points of view. I guess everyone has different needs. There is the large attachment situation. There is the I gotta do it quick situation. And the I gotta do it fast... situation... ok lets start
FILESHARING SITUATIONS 1) The big attachment..... Recommendation : http://www.orbitfiles.com Registration Required : Yes Client Software Required : No Multiple file upload support : Yes Size Limit : 6 GB (OOooo lala) THE COOL : I love the storage size limit THE CATCH : Registration sucks, interface requires you to open your files to public (sigh... details details)
2) The I gotta do it now!! Don't ask me to mess with installs and registrations Recommendation : http://www.youswap.com/ Registration Required : No Client Software Required : No Multiple file upload support : Yes Size Limit : 1 GB THE COOL : Simplest interface, just do everything from the browser THE CATCH : I think the 1GB would probably be the only drawback...
3) The I gotta upload and download it fast!! Recommendation : http://www.pando.com/ Registration Required : No Client Software Required : Yes sender and receiver Mutiple file upload support : Yes you can upload a whole folder Size Limit : 1 GB THE COOL : Swarming bittorrent upload and download engine provides the best speeds THE CATCH : Installing software clients suck.... You gotta be online to transfer The Overall Verdict: Well if you gotta just share some files online I would go with www.youswap.com. Just upload your stuff and you are ready to share, but thats me.... Looking at the three situations, I guess you have to choose a service in each situation. And judging from the way things are going... I think the best is yet to come... If you got another service that you think we should try... type in the comments below.. also do share your experiences on the different services you tried....
