Hi Everyone... sometimes we just have loads of stuff to evaluate... But the crummy trial period is just too short. Luckily.... Windows Vista has a built-in script, by using that script you can extend the period of trial version to another30 days. With the help of this script you can extend the trial version of windows vista to 3 times greater which will equal to 120 days as of given time. This procedure is recognized as "rearming" it uses the script "slmgr.vbs" that is located: read on.....

The script is located in C:\Windows\system32.

By using the script of slmgr.vbs in Windows Vista does not break the Agreement of End User License. The hosts of KMS can be maintained and activated in a number of ways. The script has easy that are WMI calls and registry entries that can be use for extra difficult configuration settings.

In Windows Vista to extend the activation period you must be perform these tasks within first thirty days. But if you don’t want to extend the activation period within first thirty days, Windows Vista will simply lock down and allow the users to activate the product, buy an activation key, or surf the web for one hour. But after the time has ended (1 hour), Windows Vista will end the session of the current user.

After 30 days, you will not be able to execute the command slmgr.vbs even if you boot the computer into Safe Mode and  by using a session of Command Prompt for the reason that Windows Vista will stop you from launching a session of Command Prompt.

To extend the activation period of windows vista, type the command and press the enter key:

cscript slmgr.vbs -rearm

This command will take 10 to 30 sec to complete. Upon completion of this command action you will get the message: “Command has been completed successfully. Restart the computer to effect your changes”.

Uses of slmgr.vbs Command
The script slmgr.vbs can also be use for a number of other tasks apart from only rearming Windows Vista. Through the use of the command of "-rearm", the script also supports these commands:

-ipk is an Install Product Key that is used to allow the functionality of KMS host.

-dli used to display the information of license.

-ato used to activate the Attempt instant.

-sprt port locate the listening port of KMS host.

-sdns  the publishing of dynamic DNS.

-cdns used to inactive the publishing of dynamic DNS.

-cpri used to set the priority of KMS processor to low.

-spri used to set the priority of KMS processor to normal.

-rearm is a Reset activation timer and initialization which is used for recovery and imaging from the RFM.

-xpr used to show the expiry date of KMS activation.

Hope this will help you out....
